RETINOL
Retinol is a powerful form of vitamin A, that can penetrate deep into the skin's layers. HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid (HA), is a naturally occurring molecule in your skin. It acts like a moisture magnet by drawing water from the deeper layers of your skin and the surrounding atmosphere, plumping and hydrating the surface. This surge in hydration helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, leaving your skin looking plump and supple.
Emma Beauty Labs uses dual action hyaluronic acid. This means that we use two types of hyaluronic acid to ensure both deep penetration and longevity.
- Sodium Hyaluronate: Small molecule, salt form of hyaluronic acid. The smaller molecule size allows it to penetrate deep into the skin providing intense hydration.
- Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: A special type of long-lasting hyaluronic acid that clings to your skin, providing skin plumping and continuous moisture throughout the day.
COPPER TRIPEPTIDE-1
Copper peptides are small, naturally occurring tri-peptides present in human plasma. Also known as GHK-Cu, these peptides bind to the cells responsible for collagen and elastin synthesis and trigger the skin's natural repair process. They signal to your skin cells to ramp up collagen and elastin production. This translates to firmer, plumper skin with reduced wrinkles and a more even skin tone. BAKUCHIOL
Bakuchiol (aka Psoralea Corylifolia) is a botanical extract from the Babchi plant, found in India and China. It has recently emerged as a gentler alternative to retinol. Studies show it mimics retinol's effects on skin cell turnover, stimulating collagen production and reducing wrinkles. NIACINAMIDE (NICOTINAMIDE)
Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, is a multi-tasking ingredient for your skin. It strengthens the skin's barrier by boosting ceramide production, which helps retain moisture and keeps irritants out. It's a natural antioxidant and anti-bacterial. Niacinamide also minimises pore appearance by regulating sebum (oil) production and can reduce redness and hyperpigmentation. ASCORBIC ACID
Ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, is a potent antioxidant found naturally in citrus fruits and crucial for healthy skin. It neutralizes free radicals that damage collagen, leading to firmer, brighter skin with reduced wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Ascorbic acid can also stimulate collagen production, further enhancing skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines.
PANTHENOL
Panthenol, a precursor to vitamin B5, is a humectant which means it holds and retains moisture. As such, it's a powerful moisturiser and research shows that it decreases water loss from the skin. It's also an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory which can help to sooth skin and prevent redness. TOCOPHEROL
Tocopherol, a form of vitamin E, is a powerful antioxidant that shields your skin from environmental pollutants. It helps maintain healthy skin cell membranes, protecting them from damage that can lead to wrinkles and loss of elasticity. This multi-tasking ingredient can also soothe irritation and promote wound healing, keeping your skin healthy and glowing.
CITRIC ACID
Citric acid naturally occurrs in citrus fruits and plays a multi-faceted role in skincare. It gently exfoliates the skin's surface, removing dead cells and promoting smoother texture. Citric acid also balances skin's pH level, creating an optimal environment for healthy cell turnover and enhancing the effectiveness of other skincare ingredients. GLYCYRRHIZIC ACID DIPOTASSIUM / DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHIZINATE
Glycyrrhizic Acid Dipotassium (or Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate), a natural extract derived from liquorice root, soothes and calms irritated skin. It possesses anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and discomfort. PEG-40 (HYDROGENATED CASTER OIL)
